We spoke with Axel Nazarian, Managing Director at Travelsoft about growth, differentiation and the future of travel technology.

Tell us about yourself and Travelsoft. You own Travelgate — so why did you also choose to sponsor ConX 2026?
I am Axel Nazarian, Managing Director of Travelsoft. Travelsoft is a travel technology group founded in 2000 by Christian Sabbagh, bringing together 12 specialist companies operating across more than 90 countries.
Our investment in ConX follows directly from owning Travelgate. ConX is Travelgate's community, the place where its connected buyers, sellers and distributors come together. A healthy, active B2B community is something the entire group benefits from.
We are not buying access to it. We are investing in a network we helped build.

Travelsoft has grown into a global group of specialist travel technology companies. What is the philosophy that connects the businesses within the group?
We bring strong, specialist companies together at scale, without flattening what makes each one exceptional. Every brand retains its product, its team and its client relationships, because that distinctiveness is precisely what drives performance in its segment. What we add is connectivity: across the full leisure travel chain, from production through to distribution, spanning hotel distribution, tour operations, airline technology and travel retail.
The result is that a tour operator, an OTA or a destination management company can access parts of the stack that would otherwise sit across multiple separate vendors. We consolidate without homogenising. Keeping each brand sharp in its own market is not a constraint, it is the strategy.

As technology becomes increasingly accessible and AI lowers barriers to entry, where do you believe sustainable competitive advantage will come from in travel technology?
Execution speed is no longer a differentiator,anyone can ship a feature fast. The competitive advantage shifts to what takes years to build: proprietary supply and distribution relationships, connectivity at scale, deep domain expertise, and the trust of partners who run their daily operations on your platform.

AI raises the floor for everyone. It does not replace the relationships and the data that compound over time. That is precisely where we choose to compete.

What are Travelsoft's priorities for the travel technology ecosystem in the next 12 months?
Three priorities.
1. Integration. Bring recently acquired platforms — airQuest, BOSYS, and AO — fully into the fold, so clients experience the value of a broader, connected portfolio, not simply a longer list of logos.
2. Deeper shared capabilities. Let supply, content, and payments flow more freely between platforms rather than sitting in silos.
3. AI and agentic commerce. Build the infrastructure that allows distributors and producers to plug in — not rebuild from scratch.
One that strengthens every brand we operate and creates genuine value for the wider market.
