Elisa Ripoll García works as Customer Care Manager in one of TravelgateX's crucial departments. Her team is responsible for managing our Help Center, and interacts very closely with all our Partners as well as with our engineering and product teams. Eli has a positive, happy-go-lucky outlook on life, an eye for detail and a fantastic customer centric attitude.

- Eli, tell us more about how you came to be at Travelgate and what the company means to you.
A friend of mine recommended the company, and I applied for a job here. The team at TGX are always willing to lend a hand, regardless of their specialization,  it's a company in which humbleness and camaraderie thrive.

- If you had the opportunity to invite a friend to come and work at Travelgate, what would you say?
I would say come and join us if you want to learn about the travel industry and technology - the vibe at TGX will make you want to stay.

- Tell us about your Covid confinement experience.
There were moments of stress and uncertainty, but being able to work remotely made it bearable. Also walking the dog helped me not go crazy. We tried to be out in our veranda as much as possible!

- What did you take away from the pandemic?
The importance and fragility of everyday things we took for granted, like being able to hug someone when you're happy to see them, meet your friends in a bar and stay until the cows come home, or seeing my grandparents whenever I wanted.

- How do you see the future of the travel industry?
Travel is bouncing back, and everyone is very keen to travel - in a safe way!

- What do you do at TGX and what do you love most about your job?
I'm currently Customer Care Manager, and the best thing about my job is that I get to work with every department - it's never boring!

-What advice do you have for new additions to your department?
I would say to go easy in the first few weeks - being first-line, we handle a large volume of tickets with very varied subjects, and it can be overwhelming at first. We don't expect anyone to work independently when they first start, it would be impossible. Rely on the training and the support of your colleagues, and all will be ok!

- What do you do with your time when you're not working?
I have lots of different hobbies, but mostly I love watching series and going on long walks. I also love preparing and researching holidays, although right now it's not possible, but when it is, I'll be ready!

Who are the people you most admire?
Lots of people inspire me with different things. My husband is the most patient and consistent person I know. At work, Carlos Cañellas is great at looking at the big picture and finding solutions, he's super intuitive and works hard. Camila, product manager at Team Eevee, has turned the department around, she is great at listening to our feedback and implementing improvements based on what our clients are telling us.  This department is one of the most organized in the company thanks to her.

What are your career ambitions?
I would like to keep growing within the company, do a few more courses, continue learning from all departments - not just from a technical point of view, but also from a management one. Short term I would like to improve the way we work with each other within different departments, and that Customer Care is given the importance it has.

-Let's talk tech. What's your favourite App?
The ones I use the most are WhatsApp, youtube and Netflix.

- What kind of music do you listen to?
Indie and rock.

- Tell us a fun fact about one of your holidays and where you plan to head to next.

When we were in Rome, people were always trying to sell us roses, they were super insistent and shoved the roses on your face all the time. After 3 days of this, I decided to shout out "allergy!!!" every time anyone got close to us. We then started saying this to anything we were being offered: selfie sticks, food, clothes...

My next trips will be Iceland, Finland or Norway, and Indonesia. A place I would happiy go back to is Singapore.
