Travelgate reveals 2026 theme for ConX

Mallorca, Spain — Travelgate today announced the official theme for ConX, part of its annual ConX & AfterX industry gathering taking place 2–3 June 2026 in Mallorca. The theme — OTHERNESS: When AI Makes Everyone Average — will guide the conversations and editorial direction of the ConX programme on 2 June at Poble Espanyol.

 

A leading industry gathering returns to Mallorca 

 

 First launched in 2019, ConX has evolved into a recurring meeting point for senior leaders across travel distribution, hospitality, fintech, and travel technology. Each edition focuses on structural changes shaping the industry — from connectivity and ecosystem growth to emerging questions around profitability, demand quality, and strategic differentiation. 

 

Exploring the impact of AI on strategy and differentiation 

 

The 2026 theme reflects a growing discussion across the sector. As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly embedded in booking platforms, pricing engines, and distribution technologies, many travel companies are beginning to rely on similar tools, optimisation models, and performance metrics, leading to a convergence in strategy and market behaviour.

AI has made access to technology almost universal in travel.” said Luisa Camara, Chief Commercial Officer at Travelgate. “What it hasn’t solved is judgment. ConX 2026 is about creating space for honest conversations on where differentiation still matters — and where following the same models as everyone else quietly erodes value.”

 

ConX by the numbers: a global industry meeting point 

 

In 2025, ConX and AfterX brought together more than 1,000 travel professionals from over 500 companies across more than 50 countries, representing the full travel distribution ecosystem.

Participants included wholesalers and bedbanks (34%), technology providers (20%), online travel agencies (13%), tour operators (13%), and destination management companies (11%), alongside media and travel agency representatives.

 

 

A high-level audience driving strategic dialogue 

 

The event has also become known for its concentration of senior leadership. During the 2025 edition, 45% of attendees were C-level executives or founders, with an additional 30% directors and department heads, creating a forum focused on strategic dialogue rather than operational updates.

Growth increasingly comes from choosing where to be different — and where optimisation alone is no longer the answer.”

 

 

AfterX: extending conversations beyond the stage 

 

Following the discussions on 2 June, AfterX on 3 June will once again take place at Nikki Beach Mallorca, extending the gathering in a more informal setting and bringing attendees together for a networking experience designed to strengthen relationships across the global travel ecosystem.
