“Technology is a core competence for our business”

Next May 7, Nigel Horne will be in Mallorca at the first CON-X conference organized by the TravelgateX team. In this opportunity, Nigel shares with us his reflection on the challenges of technology and tourism.

-How did you become part of WebBeds Group team and what projects do you work on?

TravelgateX and Expedia Group Partner Solutions have worked together for the past 3 years. Last year both companies further strengthened their ties when Expedia chose TravelgateX to be the launch platform partner for the release of their new API, EPS Rapid.

Why innovation ecosystems are essential for the future of the tourism sector?

TravelgateX will participate in the kick-off session of “4 Years from Now” [4YFN], the innovation platform for MWC which will be moderated by Innovation Hub Travel Edition.

• During Christmas holidays, hotel reservations increased by 62% over the previous year according to the transactions that happen every day through this tourist marketplace.
• Spain, Italy, and France remain the preferred destinations in Europe; however, the reservations in the United Kingdom have increased by 94% compared to last year.
